Doral Academy of Texas Child Nutrition Services
Welcome to an exciting new school year with Doral Academy of Texas Child Nutrition Services! We’re thrilled to be a part of your students’ daily journey as a vital member of their educational TEAM. To kick off this fantastic year, we want to share some important federal regulations alongside some fresh updates that will help keep you in the loop. Our goal is to ensure the first days of school are a breeze, especially in the cafeteria! Get ready for a wonderful year ahead!
- We encourage all students to memorize their Doral Academy ID number, as it is essential for various functions, including testing, library checkouts, and cafeteria access.
- All Doral households are strongly urged to complete a breakfast/lunch meal eligibility application online at Linq Connect. Please note that only one application should be submitted per household.
- For returning households that received meal benefits during the 2025-2026 school year, a new meal application must be completed for the new school year to allow for household re-evaluation. If you do not submit a new application by September 24, 2026, all students in the household will default to Full Paid status, and any incurred charges will be the household's responsibility.
- Returning Doral students will retain their meal benefits from the 2025-2026 school year at the beginning of the 2026-2027 school year until a new application is received and processed or until September 24, 2026, whichever occurs first.
- If you believe your household may qualify for additional state-funded benefits, please apply online through the Texas Department of Health and Human Services.
- All remaining funds in student cafeteria accounts from the previous school year have been carried over for use in the 2026-2027 school year. Parents can check their child's account balance anytime via Linq Connect.
- Paid lunch meal prices will increase to $4.25 per day, while reduced-price lunch will be available for $0.00 per day. The cost of a paid breakfast will be $2.75. Students who qualify for reduced-price meals will not incur any charges for their first breakfast and lunch each school day.
- Doral Academy allows a meal grace period, during which students can charge up to $10.00 for breakfast and/or lunch until their accounts are funded. Once this charge limit is reached, students will be offered an alternative meal, consisting of a cheese sandwich, fruit, and milk, until all charges are settled. Severely delinquent accounts (over 30 days) will be addressed individually. Please be aware that all negative account balances must be cleared for students to take part in field trips, extracurricular activities, and the transfer of academic records.
- This school year, Doral Academy is excited to announce our partnership with CraveIt! as our Vended Meal Partner! Get ready for daily, fresh, homestyle lunches that will be delivered hot right to our school, allowing students to enjoy meals that truly feel like home. With weekly rotating menus and seasonal changes, there's always something new and delicious on the horizon for everyone to look forward to!
Sincerely,
